Succession and Machado’s principle

In the golden years of the Tapadismo, the Presidents began to manage the succession process from the first day of their mandate, but they never got out of control, because they kept their preference “in pectore”.

Today, when, despite passionate refusals, the Government of the Republic advanced the succession, by creating a modern vision of the historical cover art, it has generated a stressful atmosphere for applicants and for the process leader.

Someone forgot the poet Manuel Machado and overestimated the temper of the president and the ruling party, assuming that they will resist the stress undaunted for the next eleven months. Machado said: “by force of many blows, even iron breaks”.

Against the Judiciary, for money

For several weeks, the undersecretary of the Secretariat for Security and Citizen Protection, Ricardo Mejía, has highlighted the rulings against the MP by judges and magistrates of the Federal Judicial Power.

It is unfortunate that the righteous mysticism of the Government is not due to its innate moral authority, but rather due to its earthly and prosaic greed for the money from the trusts of the Judicial Power. I mean, we’re winning, send money.
