The government neither blackmails nor bends the PAN: Marko Cortés

By reiterating that deputies, senators, mayors and governors of the PAN have been pressured by the federal government at different times, the national leader of the National Action Party, Marko Cortes Mendozaaffirmed that unlike other parties, the PAN members are not blackmailed or subdued.

During a meeting with PAN legislators, governors and mayors from all over the country, he asserted: “that feeling of team, of body, that is what makes us strong and that is what tells the federal government: not with us. With us pressure is not worth it, with us blackmail is not worth it, with us it is the reasons, it is the convictions, it is the proposals. And there, yes, they will always find an outstretched hand to build on what is best for Mexico.

“That is the great difference of National Action. They are not going to beat us, they are not going to beat us and it is with that strength that we will have to face the next battles”, he stated.

Clarifying that for the PAN at this time it is not a priority to form a political-electoral alliance, Marko Cortés indicated that his party’s efforts are to stop the electoral reform that the federal government and Morena are seeking.

“I have been asked, what’s up with the electoral alliances? And say no! The priority today is not electoral alliances or coalitions, today the priority is to defend Mexico, today the priority is to defend the INE, today the priority is to defend the institutions that we have been building for many years.

“And the great battle is coming, taking care of the INE, taking care of freedom, taking care of democracy, taking care of the Courts, and in that great battle, Mexico has National Action, we are firm, and tell all civil society, National Action will be the first and will go ahead in defense of the INE, and that is why we have announced that by concluding our National Assembly on November 12 and 13, we will be without partisan colors, marching in defense of freedom together with civil society, we will be there”, he asserted.

“If there is no autonomous INE, autonomous Court, there is no Mexico with opportunities and that is the crusade,” he added.

In the auditory Manuel Gómez Morin From the PAN national headquarters, Cortés Mendoza reiterated that PAN deputies, senators, mayors and governors have been pressured by the federal government at different times, for which he called on them to resist.

“How many calls did our federal deputies and senators receive, threats and offers?, and we resisted, how many calls surely our parliamentary coordinators in the Local Congresses have received?, and we are resisting.

“That is what I want to ask of you, to continue resisting and act as a body, act as a team, being sure that they do attack one of our mayors or municipal presidents, that they do attack one of our governors, that they do attack one of our local, federal or senators deputies, they would be attacking the entire PAN System, and when we are united they cannot mess with us, what we have to be is brave, to be able to take care of and defend Mexico”, he referred.

Present at the event, among others, were the secretary general, Cecilia Patron, the governors of Chihuahua, Maru Campos; from Yucatan, Mauricio Vila; the president of the Board of Directors in Deputies, Santiago Creel, the coordinator of the PAN in the Chamber of Deputies, Jorge Romero; the mayor of Benito Juárez, Santiago Taboada; and the coordinator of Deputies in Mexico City, Christian Von Roehrich.
