A museum under construction in the birthplace of the legendary drug lord Joaquín el Chapo Guzmán, in the northwest of the country, could be dedicated to drug trafficking with the aim of attracting tourists to the place, said the mayor of the town.

According to a video shared on social networks, the mayor of Badiraguato, José López, justified the possible project as a way to promote the economic development of the population, located in the state of Sinaloa.

Avigail López, assistant to the municipal presidency, confirmed the veracity of the video and explained that the site is under construction and that the type of content it will expose has not yet been defined.

“If (the specialists) guide us, it will be for the benefit of Badiraguato to have a drug museum, because we also promote it from the government,” added the official.
