Matt Hancock’s partner Gina Colangelo is reportedly receiving regular updates about his welfare after he made his entry into the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The MP, 44, will make his debut on Wednesday night’s episode alongside fellow newcomer Seann Walsh.
The Sun reports that Matt was ‘still smiling’ despite undergoing a gruesome first trial, titled Beastly Burrows.

A source added to the publication: ‘Gina has been updated about Matt’s trial and how he got on. She was told Matt was in good spirits – even though the trial was a rotter.
‘Everything he does in terms of trials will be relayed back to Matt’s family. It means there are no surprises in the show for those watching back at home.
‘The other contestants will have the same treatment – and Seann’s girlfriend Grace Adderley had the same call. It means everyone can feel like they are involved.’

MailOnline contacted representatives for I’m A Celebrity and they declined to comment.
Matt resigned as Health Secretary after it was discovered he had breached Covid-19 social distancing rules with Gina and was replaced in the role by Sajid Javid.
He later latter admitted he had ‘blown up every part of my life’ after he was caught on CCTV cheating on his wife with married aide and millionaire lobbyist Gina against the door of his Whitehall office in June last year.
New arrivals:Â Matt and Seann will be thrown into the deep end on their first day with a teaser video showing the pair taking on their first Bushtucker Trial, titled Beastly Burrows, in a bid to win stars for their new campmates.

The late arrivals are tasked with scrambling through claustrophobic tunnels while being showered with bugs on the hunt for stars.
Former Health Secretary Matt takes the lead in the teaser clip, confidently crawling through the tunnels with a more nervous Seann on his tail.
The video shows the MP yelling as he’s covered with ‘slurry’ before arguing with Seann after asking him which way they should go.
‘I’m not a satnav I don’t know,’ the comedian tells Matt leading the show’s hosts Ant And Dec to burst out laughing.
A TikTok video released on Wednesday morning teasing Matt’s jungle arrival showed the MP insisting ‘I don’t think I’ve got any fears of phobias but we’re about to find out.’

‘If I’m asked to do a trial I just hope I can find those stars,’ he added with a smile, before admitting: ‘I’ve got absolutely no idea how I’ll deal with snakes. I’ve never come across a live snake before.’
‘Eating bugs, I’m sure I’ll be fine, I can just get it, you can just get it down you, can’t you?’
The former Health Secretary is poised to make his jungle debut alongside comedian Seann on Wednesday evening, but show bosses will ensure his stay gets off to a difficult start by throwing him into its most notorious camp, Snake Rock.Â

Hancock previously revealed he’s going on I’m A Celeb to ‘prove politicians are humans too’ and connect with a younger audience, after his decision to enter the jungle sparked a fierce backlash from Westminster and the public.
Despite political insiders telling MailOnline that Hancock’s decision to go on I’m a Celebrity – and its reputed £400,000 pay day – will end his frontline political career, he has insisted that he’s received plenty of support from his fellow MPs, although admitted he doesn’t expect to serve in Government again.
Hancock also revealed that he’s ‘looking forward’ to showing the public a different side to him after his time in the cabinet.

Explaining his decision to appear on the show, he explained: ‘I don’t expect to serve in Government again but there are lots of ways you can communicate and engage with people.
‘When I got approached to take part, I did think long and hard about it but one of the reasons that I felt able to say yes was because the IAC team have put in place a system so I can be reached at any point on any urgent constituency matters.
‘Lots of people have a view on me from being Health Secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues, but that’s not the whole story. I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life.
Ready for the jungle! I’m A Celebrity unveiled the first look at Matt (left) and comedian Seann on Tuesday
Cast: (L-R) Mike Tindall, Owen Warner, Olivia Attwood, Charlene White, Boy George, Scarlette Douglas, Sue Cleaver, Chris Moyles, Babatúndé Aléshé and Jill Scott were unveiled as the original I’m A Celebrity 2022 lineup
‘You can’t hide anything in the jungle, you see somebody warts and all.’
Going on to insist he has received a lot of support despite having his Conservative Party whip suspended, Matt added: ‘I informed the Whip and I gave my reasons. I have had a lot of supportive messages from people who can see what I am trying to do to show that politicians are people too.’
Despite his claims, Matt was publicly condemned by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak this week, who said the MP will alienate voters in his West Suffolk constituents more than 10,000 miles from his ITV jungle camp, saying: ‘I was very disappointed with Matt’s decision.’
When quizzed on whether he thinks his colleagues in Parliament and the British public will be on speed dial voting for him to take part in the trials, Matt confessed: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up doing some of the trials! I am hoping I can win some stars for the camp, but most of all I am looking forward to being myself.’
While he’s hoping to win over the public during his time in the jungle, Matt admitted he’s ‘not expecting’ to be crowned King of the jungle?
‘It would be the icing on the cake and that would be wonderful,’ he revealed. ‘But I am not expecting it. My family are very supportive of me taking part on I’m A Celebrity. They have supported me doing some bonkers things like when I tried to get to the North Pole and in my public life as well.
‘I think you will learn things about yourself. You have all that time to think about what is important.’
I’m A Celebrity continues at 9pm on ITV on Wednesday night.Â
