The three main stock indices of the US market jumped sharply this Thursday. Wall Street advanced driven by the technology sector after knowing a data of inflation from october in USA below those expected.
The index Nasdaq of high technological weight rose 7.35% to 11,114.15 units, in its best day since March 2020. The index S&P 500 moved 5.54% to 3,956.37 units and the Dow Jonesof 30 industrial giants, rose 3.70% to 33,715.37 units.
The consumer price index in the United States moved 7.7% annually in October. In September it had posted a rise of 8.2 percent. Its record was the lowest since January 2022, signaling that rate hikes are having an effect.
Stocks of technology companies, which are sensitive to high interest rate environments, led the gains. The inflation data contributed to the bets on a moderation of the rate hikes of the Federal Reserve (Fed).
At the close of trading, Apple shares jumped 8.9%, while Microsoft’s rose 8.3%. Alphabet Inc, another of the market’s big tech companies, gained 7.58%, and shares of Elon Musk’s Telsa rose 7.39%.
