They give PJF 1,425 million pesos less than what it requested for 2023

The Judiciary will have a budget that amounts to 78,544 million 491,126 pesos next year, a figure 6.5% higher, in nominal terms, than the authorized expenditure for 2022.

This, despite the cut of 1,425 million 136,515 pesos applied by the Chamber of Deputies.

The autonomous entity requested in its budget project for the fiscal year of 2023 that the Lower House approve it to exercise 5,733.9 million pesos; a nominal variation higher by 8.5% than the expense of 5,284.9 million pesos assigned for the current year, a request that was denied by the federal deputies.

On the contrary, in accordance with the recently approved Federal Expenditure Budget (PEF) decree for the fiscal year of the coming year, the Lower House decided to adjust the spending of the Judiciary and reduced it by 1,425 million 136,615 pesos with respect to the project originally requested.

The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) will have in 2023 5,630 million 534,430 pesos; the amount is 103 million 315,570 pesos less than what was requested by the country’s highest constitutional court.

The cut in spending requested by the Federal Judicial Council (CJF) for the following year was 1,286 million 576,408 pesos; Hence, the following year it will exercise an expense of 69,933 million 886,433 pesos.

While the budget of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) amounts to 2,980 million 70,263 pesos, after the cut applied for 35 million 244,537 pesos.

The proposed PEF project of the Judiciary of the Federation, details the Programmatic Strategy, was formulated considering the relevance that, within a scheme of division of powers, this branch of the State has to guarantee the peaceful solution of controversies and to ensure trust citizen in that the answers will be fair and attached to the Constitution.

For 2023, an Expenditure Budget project is proposed that integrates the necessary resources to maintain the regular operation of the Federal Judiciary, consistent with the austerity and rationality actions in the exercise of resources of the last four years; Likewise, it integrates the necessary provisions to achieve the objectives set out in the transformative reforms implemented by the H. Congress of the Union”.

In order to culminate in 2023 the implementation of the labor reform, he refers, the Judiciary is working on the installation of the third stage of the Labor Courts, in coordination with the Executive branch that is installing Delegational Offices of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration .

Commitment

Derived from the judicial reform, the legal changes will have to be consolidated next year and the commitment of the Judiciary is to promote the transformation without additional budgetary requirements, so the spending project for 2023 does not include additional resources for said implementation, he specified.

The document states that the Judiciary maintains as a priority guaranteeing the protection and security of judges, male and female magistrates so that the delivery of justice is shielded from the attacks of organized crime and those who seek to affect it through acts of corruption.

The budget project foresees an allocation of 896.4 million pesos to guarantee the safety of judges.
