CAMe suspends the environmental contingency in the Valley of Mexico

The Executive Coordination of the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) suspended the atmospheric environmental contingency for ozone in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM) and its measurements as of 5:00 p.m. this Monday.

In a statement, the CAMe explained that the suspension of the Phase 1 of environmental contingency imposed last Saturday night is due to the fact that ozone concentrations were lower than those established by the Program to Prevent and Respond to Atmospheric Environmental Contingencies in the ZMVM.

“The high pressure system lost intensity, which led to a reduction in atmospheric stability and a higher wind speed, along with the entry of humidity into the Valley of Mexico,” the agency detailed.

The CAMe explained that these conditions caused the maximum ozone value reached to be 121 ppb, at 5:00 p.m., at the Villa de las Flores station, in the municipality of Coacalco de Berriozábal, State of Mexico, according to data from the Air Quality Monitoring System of Mexico City.

The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis He said that based on these data, it is forecast that tomorrow, Tuesday, the weather conditions will be similar to those registered today.
