PAN, PRI and PRD announce their alliance “Va por México” in Edomex for 2023

The state leaders of the PRI, PAN and PRD announced the beginning of the formation of the alliance “Va por México” for the election of Governor in the State of Mexico in 2023. They announced that it will not only be an electoral coalition but also a government one, which they will register with the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico.

In a press conference in Toluca, the leaders of the PAN, Anuar Azar Figueroa; from the PRI, Erick Sevilla Montes de Oca; and from the PRD, Agustín Barrera Soriano, said that starting tomorrow they will set up a strategic table to define between Enrique Vargas del Villar, Alejandra del Moral and Omar Ortega, the candidate of the alliance “Goes through Mexico” in the Edomex.

The PRD member Erick Sevilla Montes de Oca recalled that the national leaderships of the three parties delegated their state leaderships to dialogue and negotiate, so the coalition is a state achievement.

PAN member Anuar Azar Figueroa said that the coalition is an act of good will, in good faith and for the good of the State of Mexico. He mentioned that it is the beginning of the process of building an alliance, after yesterday the coordinators of the three parties in the Chamber of Deputies announced a commitment not to endorse the electoral reform of the government and Morena.

Noting that Enrique Vargas Del Villar is the option with “many chances of victory,” Azar Figueroa said that one of the objectives of the alliance is that “Morena does not happen in Edomex.”

Questioned about the version that the PRI already negotiated with the federal government to hand over the State of Mexico to Morenathe panista replied that it is only a version, as it is also said that Senator Higinio Martínez will not accompany Morena, “and we all know that the one who has the whole structure (is he).”

The PAN member argued that the three parties are convinced that they will be able to win in 2023. “If we are here it is because we are convinced that if everyone does what corresponds to them, we will win the governorship of the State of Mexico,” he said.

For his part, Erick Sevilla Montes de Oca ruled out a fracture in the PRI, after Ana Lilia Herrera Anzaldo has not publicly acknowledged her support for Alejandra del Moral as PRI coordinator for the defense of the Mexico state. He mentioned that Herrera is disciplined, is in the project and will join the project in the next few days.

Regarding the election method to choose a candidate from the “Va por México” coalition, the PRI member Sevilla Montes de Oca affirmed that the polls are only an important tool, since some of them are spooned. For this reason, he estimated that it will be the product of agreements between the parties. “We are going to fight very hard, and here the 4T will not happen,” he said.

He indicated that as part of the start of the coalition work that will begin this Friday, the local deputies of the three parties will relaunch their legislative agenda, and it is expected that the request for an electoral and government coalition will be presented between December 14 and January 2023 before the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico. “We are going to work in a coalition that is up to the times of the circumstances to defend democracy, the laws and the causes of the people of Mexico,” he said.

He asked for peace of mind, as he said that the three parties “will find the mechanism and the best strengthened candidacy.” He expressed respect to the candidates Enrique del Villar and Omar Ortega. “At the table we will find the methods, the formulas. In a few days we will be able to have agreements in particular, ”he said.

PRD member Agustín Barrera Soriano said that his party made it a requirement to go from an electoral coalition to a government one.

“In the State of Mexico we are not naive, we know that we will face a state election, where the federal government will invest resources, operators, all to benefit its candidate (Delfina Gómez). The State of Mexico will not be the entity where Morena will govern ”, she highlighted.
