Malia Obama was spotted leaving her music producer boyfriend’s house in an eye-popping bright green outfit and cool leather jacket.
The eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama and his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, dressed casually as she exited her beau, Ethiopian DJ Dawit Eklund’s abode in Brentwood, California, on Thursday morning.
Decked out in all green, the Harvard graduate, 24, donned a pair of green cargo pants, a matching green sweatshirt, and white New Balance sneakers with green shoelaces. She completed the look with a black leather coat on top of the hoodie.
Malia – who is currently working as a screenwriter on Donald Glover’s upcoming unnamed Amazon show – seemed somber as she made her way to her car. She carried some extra clothes and a pair of black combat boots, which she placed in the passenger seat.

She left her long, brown, braided hair loose around her face, and went makeup free for the outing. She also wore a pair of sunglasses on top of her head.
The 24-year-old moved to the West coast after graduating from Harvard last year. She shares an apartment with her younger sister, Sasha Obama, 21, who transferred to the University of Southern California from the University of Michigan earlier this year.
Malia and Dawit were first linked back in July, when the two were caught grabbing takeout food together, and since then, they have been pictured side-by-side on numerous occasions.
They even jetted off to New York City together in September, where photographers caught them enjoying a romantic stroll together.Â
Dawit, 33, is the son of retired State Department officer Jon Eklund, 72, who worked at several US embassies in Africa and his Ethiopian wife Yeshi, 66.Â
He co-founded Washington, D.C.-based record label 1432 R, which specializes in Ethiopian music, and graduated from George Washington University, where he studied International Development in Africa.

Back in March, Donald revealed that he had given Malia her first job as a writer on his new series, which is reportedly about ‘a Beyoncé-type character,’ with the actor calling her ‘amazingly talented’ and ‘really focused’ at the time.Â

‘She’s just like, an amazingly talented person,’ Donald, 38, who is also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, told Vanity Fair. ‘She’s really focused, and she’s working really hard.’Â
He did not share how Malia – who previously interned on Lena Dunham’s HBO series Girls in 2015 and at The Weinstein Company in 2017 – landed the job, but he added that he believed she has a promising future in the industry.Â
Sasha has also appeared to have found love since relocation to LA. DailyMail.com exclusively revealed back in April that she was dating Clifton Powell Jr., 24, who is the son of Ray actor Clifton Powell, but the two have since kept the details of their romance under wraps so it’s unclear if they’re still together.
Earlier this month, the girls’ mother, Michelle, 58, gushed to Good Morning America about the joys of seeing them ‘become themselves.’
She also revealed the sisters invited her and her husband over for ‘weak martinis’ during the former First Couple’s 30th anniversary ‘honeymoon’ last month.Â
Michelle and Barack, 61, officially celebrated 30 years of marriage on October 3, and to commemorate the milestone, they decided to re-create their honeymoon by traveling along the coast of California.
Along the way, the couple stopped to visit their two daughters. And according to the former First Lady, Malia and Saha tried to play host for their parents by preparing a ‘charcuterie tray,’ along with some cocktails.Â
But things quickly went amiss when the sisters realized they didn’t have any of the ingredients they needed to make the appetizer tray and the martinis came out ‘weak.’
‘They had invited us over before dinner to have cocktails at their apartment and they had prepared a charcuterie tray and tried to make two very weak martinis,’ she recalled, while chatting to host Robin Roberts.Â

She also opened up about her daughters’ close bond while chatting to Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on the Today show in another interview. Michelle said: ‘The thing that I love the most is that those two girls are each other’s best friends’
She added that while they have not always gotten along, their shared experience of growing up in the public eye as first daughters cemented their unbreakable bond as adults
‘To see them in that place where they’re one another’s support systems and they’ve got each other’s backs, it’s the thing that a mother would want,’ Michelle said
‘They realized they didn’t have any of the ingredients, but they were trying to, they were hosting us. And it’s just fun, watching them become themselves.’
‘There was a period of time when they couldn’t stand each other, and I said, “You wait, you are going to wake up one day and you’re going to look over at that other person, and you’re going to know that you two share something very unique,’ especially given what they’ve been through,”‘ she added

Michelle also shared her amusement over the fact that her daughters insist on using coasters in their apartment – something they did not do when they lived with her. Â
She recalled of her and Barack’s recent visit to their apartment: ‘They were like, “Use a coaster,” and I’m like, “You never used a coaster in my house.” So now when it’s your stuff, you want to take care of it?’Â
