In alliance with the Victoria147 business academy for women, Grupo Herdez and Nutrisa completed their third year of promoting equal opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the country. Semillero Nutrisa, emerged in 2020, and so far it has granted scholarships to 33 entrepreneurs in a training program to support the sustained growth of their companies.
“At Grupo Herdez we believe in the development of the growth of SMEs throughout our value chain. At the same time, we are interested in generating equal opportunities and that is why we want this program to benefit women leaders in their businesses. In this way, we advance in the commitments we acquired with the scope of the United Nations 2030 Agenda,” commented Andrea Amozurrutia, Director of Finance and Sustainability of Grupo Herdez.
In this regard, the 24 female entrepreneurs from previous generations recognized at the end of the program that their trust in the business sector increased by 16% and satisfaction with their role in the company increased around 5.8 percent. In addition, they assured that their monthly sales grew 21% and their growth projection 22% thanks to the tools of this program, because according to data from the Chamber of Commerce, Services and Small Tourism of Mexico City (Canacope), eight out of 10 entrepreneurs start their microenterprise without prior training.
Claudia Reyes, Deputy Director of Impulse Marketing at Grupo Herdez pointed out, “with this program the participants acquire tools to access broader markets, training in key issues such as finance, customer experience, legal, tax, supply chain and human capital . In this way they ensure the permanence of their business, generate quality jobs and benefit other women in their value chain”.
With this initiative, Grupo Herdez and Nutrisa reinforce their commitment to gender equality so that Mexican women have access to better opportunities to strengthen their businesses and, in this way, promote their independence and economic success. This third generation seeks to expand the impact and dissemination of Semillero Nutrisa through different training spaces, whose objective is to prepare and bring more women closer to the world of retail from the experience, knowledge and positioning of Grupo Herdez and Nutrisa.
