The peso depreciated this Friday morning due to a global rebound in the dollar and after it was reported earlier that the Mexican economy grew slightly less in the third quarter than had been anticipated.
The Aztec currency was trading at 19.3869 pesos per dollar, with a loss of 0.10% against Thursday’s Reuters reference price, heading to end the week with a marginal cumulative return of 0.25 percent.
“A transition day is expected, with low trading volume, because despite the fact that the markets in the United States resume activity after yesterday’s holiday, it would only be half a day and most investors in that country are on vacation” said CI Bank in an analysis.
The Gross Domestic Product of Mexico expanded by 0.9% between July and September compared to the previous period, slightly less than the 1% that had been previously estimated, even so, it linked its fourth consecutive quarter of expansion.
For the rest of the session, the peso is expected to oscillate in a range of 19.36 to 19.48 per dollar, according to Banco Base analysts.
