Climate, gender and youth enter the agenda of the Pacific Alliance

With the aim of advancing on relevant issues, six declarations were approved at the meeting of Ministers of the Pacific Alliance: the Declaration of Mexico City; Declaration of the Pacific Alliance for the Protection of the Environment and adaptation to Climate Change; Declaration for Gender Parity in the Pacific Alliance; Declaration of the Pacific Alliance on MSMEs and Entrepreneurship, the Declaration of the Pacific Alliance on Youth and the Declaration for Well-being, Development and Social Inclusion in the Pacific Alliance.

“Several substantive statements were approved. The Council of Ministers made progress on very relevant issues such as gender parity in the Pacific Alliance (…) A declaration on the protection of jungles and forests in the region was also approved, a permanent mechanism will be created on this . There is a declaration for well-being, that is, what is the social relevance of the Pacific Alliance”, highlighted the Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard.

Ebrard said that the meeting is a sign of the commitment of the countries to forge a more social regional integration and to recognize the importance of continuing to promote the gender issue in a transversal manner within the PA.

He highlighted the advances regarding the Associate States candidates and recognized the interest of all the member countries and those invited to work under one roof.
