Killed hitman of General Urzúa Padilla

Ricardo Mejía Berdeja, Undersecretary of Public Security of the Secretariat for Citizen Security and Protection (SSPC), commented that during the operation in which General José Silvestre Urzúa Padilla was injured and later lost his life, the attacker was killed by the police. Armed forces.

During the morning conference, held at the National Palace, the undersecretary commented that the operation was part of different events, during the same day, through which the arrest of three police officers from the municipality of Pinos, in Zacatecas, who were linked to activities criminal.

The first event carried out by elements of the National Guard, the National Defense Secretariat and the Anti-Kidnapping Coordination, was a search in which the three presumed municipal police officers who were accused of the crime of aggravated kidnapping were arrested.

Mejía Berdeja commented that during this first search, a male person who was deprived of his liberty was released.

The second event was held in the community of Los Conos and the undersecretary said that there was a first confrontation between the security forces and alleged criminals, which resulted in three more arrests.

According to the authorities, in the last operation that took place in Jaltomate, Zacatecas, it was where the commander of the National Guard in the entity lost his life. In these actions there was a second confrontation, in which a hitman injured Commander Silvestre Urzúa, who, after being transferred to a hospital, lost his life.

It was also indicated that during the same operation and confrontation between the security forces and the criminals, the hit man who took the life of the National Guard general was killed.

On the other hand, it was indicated that the vehicles involved in the actions were secured, drugs were also seized and several of the perpetrators of the events were linked to the process.
