Mexico closes the year with 31 cities connected to 5G

AT&T will end in 2022 with service coverage 5G for 31 cities in Mexico, between mobile and fixed wireless products.

The company, the first to announce a 5G cellular network in the country in December 2021, had estimated to have up to 25 cities with such technology this year.

Users who live in the cities of San José del Cabo, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Rosarito, San Luis Río Colorado, Los Mochis, Tecate, Nogales, Topolobampo, Huatabampo, Puebla and Querétaro are the next beneficiaries to receive AT&T 5G coverage.

One year after announcing the start of the deployment of 5G in the country, AT&T Mexico exceeds its initial goal of 25 cities, closing 2022 with 31 throughout the country.

“Users in these cities will now be able to access the red AT&T 5G and enjoy a different browsing experience, with lower latency and higher speed,” said Nicole Rodríguez, vice president and head of the AT&T Mexico technology office.

“At AT&T Mexico we continue to deploy 5G and also strengthen our 4G-LTE cellular network, because we have something very clear: we want more and more people to take advantage of the benefits that the Internet offers in this digital age,” added the executive.

AT&T indicated that consumers can choose their navigation packages among the “Armalo”, “Simple”, “Simple Plus” and “AT&T Negocios” offers.
