Succession, of bells and processions

The National Palace is busy in the strategy of undermining the institutions of the electoral system so that they arrive at the beginning of the legal process of the presidential election with diminished resources, fewer faculties and less power, forgot an old Spanish saying.

Proof of this is the morning call to the aspirants for the presidential candidacy of the ruling party – the bottle caps for friends – not to protest if they lose the Great Poll and urged them to avoid lawsuits among their followers.

They refused to see how delicate the succession process was and why the old people, aware of human nature, did not advance the process last century. They knew the wise Spanish proverb: “you cannot ring the bells and walk in the procession”.

Judiciary, faithful to the balance?

The approach of Minister Yazmín Esquivel, one of the aspirants to replace Arturo Zaldívar in the presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice during the vote that will take place on January 2, is interesting.

Recognizing the diversity of criteria among the Ministers, he suggests magnifying the Court, building from the coincidences; in what they disagree, dialogue to reach agreements.

This is the path proposed by the minister appointed by President López Obrador to “have a strong and independent Judiciary, called to be the balance between the Powers of the Union, as the only commitment.”

The elusive goal of the Danish health system

Four years into the Lopez Obrador administration, the health sector authorities have not been able to overcome the ideological cobwebs and bureaucratic rancor of the Alcocer-López Gatell duo and miserably squandered what the country has.

They continue to stumble in the maze built by their inability to supply the public health system with medicines, supplies and medical equipment, and the quality of service in hospitals and public clinics decreases.

From the United States they encourage exports and without absurd conditions they have sought out the Mexican industry to replace their Asian suppliers that until today supplied the US health system. And now that?
