Canaco projects hotel occupancy of up to 70% in Querétaro for December holidays

Queretaro, Qro. On the occasion of the December’s holidaysstate hotels expect to achieve an occupancy of between 65 and 70%, according to estimates from the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco Servytur) local.

It is expected that these dates, from December to January 6, represent an important tourist dynamic for the entity, coupled with the local consumption that is fostered every year in this season.

In this sense, the chamber projects an economic income of between 1,800 and 1,900 million pesos by the end of the year, reflecting an increase of 40% in relation to the previous year.

In addition to the economic benefit from tourism, he added, an increase in sales is expected due to the typical meetings and celebrations of the season.

Faced with this consumption season and the recovery process that businesses are in, he added that two strategies are being considered for local businesses, in order to boost their sales.

One of them is to increase the training of merchants, in order to establish promotions that guarantee profits without putting their businesses at risk.

“To place promotions that guarantee them to generate profits, with that to settle liabilities (that accumulated) during the pandemic or generate profits for the January slope, because many times businesses do not know how to generate a good promotion that is attractive, but that does not commit to the business”, he commented.

The following strategy consists of sharing techniques to generate inventories, since in the first semester of the year some establishments reported that they required financing to strengthen their inventories.

Regarding the businesses that are victims of crimes during these seasons, the president of kanak reported that at this stage of the year an increase of between 10 and 12% is reported in crimes such as farderismo and ant robbery.
