Mercado Libre battles with deliveries in Argentina

Mercado Libre is experiencing problems with shipments of purchases in Argentina made in recent days. The World Cup fervor and the proximity of the Holidays, explained in the company, caused a peak in demand that caused delays and rescheduling to deliver the products to customers, in many cases, only from Monday of the next week, after the Christmas.

Users of the e-commerce platform who had a delivery date for their purchases during this week were left empty-handed. Above all, after the Government decreed the holiday on Tuesday: the impossibility of transiting normally through the AMBA, as a consequence of the celebrations for the conquest of the third World Cup by Argentina, meant that many deliveries scheduled for that day they were rescheduled until next week.

Consulted, the company did not give further details. He acknowledged that there are “some delays in deliveries” and explained that “it should normalize in the next few days.” The main modality that is in danger is Full, the one that promises deliveries in 24 and 48 hours. Although Mercado Libre strengthened the dispatch, distribution and logistics process in its storage center during this last time, it was not enough to cover the demand caused during the last days of the year.

The company’s objective is that both SMEs and well-known brands can store their products in the warehouses in order to reduce waiting times.
