The new season of Saturday Night Live will premiere on Saturday, October 4, at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
As anticipation builds for Season 51, the show is celebrating the success of its previous season. SNL‘s Season 50 and its related anniversary specials earned a combined 30 nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards. The nods recognized excellence in categories including writing, directing, lighting, sound mixing, production design, makeup, and hairstyling.
Cast member Bowen Yang also received an Emmy nomination for acting. Yang, whose notable Season 50 moments included a performance with Lady Gaga and a sketch where he played baby hippo Moo Deng, shared a photo of the entire SNL cast and crew on Instagram to celebrate.
“The best part of working at @nbcsnl is the people,” Yang wrote. “Every person in every department shows up, gives their best… None of it happens without everyone in and out of this photo. I love them so much.”
While SNL is on its summer hiatus until the October premiere, fans can watch repeat episodes from Season 50 on Saturday nights on NBC. The August 16 broadcast will feature the December 21, 2024, episode hosted by former cast member Martin Short with musical guest Hozier. That episode’s cold open featured Short being inducted into the prestigious Five-Timers Club by a host of stars, including Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, and Emma Stone.
For fans hoping to see the show live, the ticket lottery for Season 51 is open through the end of August. Additionally, sketches from every season of Saturday Night Live are available to stream on Peacock.
