Queretaro, Qro. The micro, small and medium enterprises (mipymes) industrialists of the state estimate to close 2022 with an annual growth of 2.9% in their profits, according to the Association of Industrial MSMEs of Querétaro (Amiqro).
This growth also reflects the pre-pandemic recovery of these companies, which show an increase of 1.7% compared to 2019, stated the president of Amiqro, José Luis Cámara Gil.
“We have growth, we have it measured in September, and we think that this is how we are going to close the year with 2.9% growth compared to last year (…) It means that we are practically 1.8 times the national growth average (of GDP) . This is in terms of profits, performance, in the end, the greater the sale, the greater the profit, ”he explained.
Regarding the expectations for 2023, the industrialist anticipated that a complex environment is envisioned that will be marked by the course that the US economy takes, since it is closely related to the Mexican economy.
“There is an issue that will determine Mexico, in Querétaro, (it is) the behavior of the United States, 75% of what we produce is exported to the United States and Canada, so there is talk of a recession in the United States, of a An important unemployment issue, the United States is going to face an election process and this is going to somehow generate some economic instability,” he pointed out.
Even against this background, he explained that there are positive factors that could offset the negative ones and promote economic growth next year.
“The United States requires a great deal of productivity of Mexicothe great statesmen consider that the growth of Mexico cannot be below 3% by the year 2023, we are optimistic thinking that it will be achieved in real terms”, he stated.
The relocation of suppliers is another of the favorable elements that could affect the economic growth of the state and of the installed companies.
“This creates a convenient environment for continued investment in Querétaro and for many United States companies that were in China to repatriate, are coming to Mexico and this is a benefit for Mexicans,” he added.
At the local level, he noted, it is also positive that the state has achieved 46,391 new jobs from January to November of this year, which shows that there is still confidence in investing in Querétaro.
Amiqro has 189 member companies that together employ 23,000 people in the state of Querétaro; They are mainly dedicated to supplying products and services for the industrial sector, including indirect supply.
