Appointment of the new SCJN Presidency must be a decision of the ministers: PAN

A few hours before the plenary session of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) appoint a new president, the national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortes, He expressed that the decision should be made solely by the ministers, and should contribute to strengthening and not weakening the highest court.

In the midst of the controversy over the legitimacy or not of the bachelor’s degree of Minister Yasmín Esquivel Mossa, the PAN leader said that in the process of appointing a new minister-president, the credibility and honorability of the institution that guarantees justice in Mexico.

“The university authorities should resolve in a conclusive and timely manner a matter of the greatest academic importance and for the justice in Mexicoproving to be up to the standard that our maximum house of studies deserves”, he pointed out.

He explained that beyond people and positions, the decision that the ministers must make must generate a true balance of powers, guarantee absolute respect for the legality and defense of the Constitution.

On the other hand, the PAN leader trusted that the federal government put a stop to the increase in violence and insecurity by 2023, that the escalation of prices and the highest inflation in the last 20 years be controlled, “because at families no longer have enough for anything, that health services be reestablished, returning at least the medical care and medicines guaranteed by Seguro Popular”.

“Our commitment as a political institution for 2023 will be to continue being the strongest and clearest opposition in Mexico, we will take particular care of the integration of the four new councilors of the National Electoral Institute and of the two magistrates of the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal, as well as the appointments of the five regional magistrates and all the local ones that are renewed”, he stated.

Marko Cortés proposed that in the state elections in the State of Mexico and Coahuila, “we prevent the destructive stain from morenista from advancing further and we will continue working to build a winning project by 2024, which adds to all Mexicans who see that the things go from bad to worse, to together correct the course of Mexico”.
