The appointment of Minister Piña as president of the SCJN will help preserve the constitutional order: INE

The president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Lorenzo Córdova, celebrated and supported the appointment of the minister Norma Lucia Pina Hernandez as president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), since she said that her profile will help preserve the constitutional order in our country.

“I salute the appointment of Minister Norma Piña as President of the SCJN. The independence of the Federal Judiciary will be extremely important for the preservation of the constitutional order and for the future of our democracy.

“It is great news for all of us to have a woman (professional and independent), for the first time in history, at the helm of the SCJN,” said Córdova Vianello.

In turn, the magistrate of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary, Janine Otálora, also expressed her support for the appointment. “Her experience, ethics, and commitment to justice will be essential for effective respect for the Constitutional framework,” she asserted.

The academic from the Colegio de México and former deputy governor of the Bank of Mexico, Gerardo Esquivel, also celebrated the appointment of the new president of the Court.

“Very good news is the election of Minister Norma Lucía Piña Hernández as President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. She has been a minister she would be, consistent, progressive and independent. Congratulations,” she highlighted.

The retired minister, Margarita Luna Ramos, expressed: “I congratulate Mrs. Minister Norma Lucía Piña Hernández, the first woman to hold the position as President of the Supreme Court of the Nation.”

In the same sense, the retired minister of the Court, Jose Ramon Cossio, expressed: “many congratulations to Minister Piña Hernández for the election as president of the Supreme Court of Justice. Much success in the important function of her ”.

Finally, the retired senator and minister, Olga Sánchez Cordero, said: “All the success in your management before the SCJN and the Federal Judicial Council. It is time for human rights and it is time for women”.
