Fibras Index, with an advance of 4.2% on the BMV

In 2022, the Fibras Index of the Mexican Stock Exchange presented an advance of 4.2% compared to the 9% drop of the main stock index, S&P/BMV IPC, according to an analysis by Monex Casa de Bolsa.

This confirms, the document reads, that last year was positive for the real estate investment trust sector (Fibras).

The foregoing, despite facing economic challenges such as high interest rates and high inflation.

According to Monex analysts, in 2022 the Fibras sector showed a certain recovery, especially in the occupancy metric.

Around 2023, the industrial sector will maintain leadership, mainly due to the synergies of Nearshoring.

For its part, the commercial sector will have a better performance than in 2022 due to greater mobility after years with restrictions due to Covid-19, while the office sector with the turning point in occupancy, waiting for that inertia in 2023 .

Monex believes that 2023 will be an attractive year for fibers, strengthening the vision of increased acquisition/development activity, as well as a key year to improve the dividend scenario.

For this year, the brokerage house reiterates the industrial and commercial sectors as favorites, expecting a greater recovery in the office category.
