Queretaro, Qro. The industrial sector of the state starts 2023 with uncertainty, due to the incidence of global factors, said the president of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Canacintra) in Querétaro, Esaú Magallanes Alonso.
The industrialist stressed that the effects that could derive from the war between Ukraine and Russia are disturbing; in addition to the increase in Covid-19 infections in China, which on other occasions has affected logistics and supply chains.
Added to this environment, he said, is the ravages of inflation, which despite reaching historic levels, Querétaro reported one of the lowest inflation rates in the country.
“Now for 2023 we see a little uncertainty at the beginning, we see that the world’s stock markets continue to fall. We know that in Querétaro we are doing very well, despite the inflation that we had at historical peaks, because we grew compared to other states, ”he explained.
However, in economic matters, he trusted that Querétaro could achieve a growth close to 6% in 2023, a factor that is encouraging for the state’s industrialists.
“We do not know how it will affect the beginning of 2023, we have a forecast that we will grow around 6% next year and at the national level it is said that it has ranked above 2%, so that is very good for us,” he said. .
Added to this environment are the investment projects that continue to arrive in the state and that could result in the growth of the industry.
Investments continue to arrive, Querétaro continues to be a favorite place to invest, transnational companies continue to turn to us, so all these measurements are very important for the industrial sector,” he added.
Regarding the end of 2022, the president of Canacinta said that the state’s secondary activities progressed more positively than expected, since they began that year without certainty of what their behavior would be. In particular, the manufacturing industry advanced and fueled the growth of the secondary sector
“We started with the uncertainty of how that year (2022) was going to be, the first semester really started very slowly, in the end it accelerated, the secondary sector was really the one that grew the most in Querétaro, it grew very well,” he declared.
Rising
Manufacturing production in Querétaro grew 5.2% at an annual rate last August, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
This increase was higher than the rise of 2.4% in the previous period, in addition to the fact that it meant spinning seven months with positive variations; in said period an increase of 5.2 percent was averaged.
