Grisi has announced the goal for Santander Mexico to double its size in five years: “It does not lie in being the biggest, but in being the best.”

Regarding achievements, during Grisi’s stage in Santander Mexico, the portfolio went from 540 to 800 billion pesos, in addition to progress in microfinance with the granting of 800,000 credits.

And in the future, as Santander’s main global official, Grisi seems to have assumed lofty challenges. According to reports, the goal has been set for Santander México to double its size over the next five years, which, admittedly, seems ambitious, but not impossible to achieve, given the growth potential that the country offers. Regarding this aspiration, Grisi’s replacement in Santander México, Felipe García, pointed out: “It does not lie in being the biggest, but in being the best.”

Whether such ambitious goals will be achieved or not will depend on many factors. Still, there may be no doubt about Héctor Grisi’s talents as a banker and civil servant of excellence. Regarding his profile, President Ana Botín has pointed out “that his excellent results speak for themselves…”
