Changes and commitments that land in the Clausura 2023

The Liga MX teams have a tournament on the doorstep that will set the tone for a new way of consuming soccer, such as the implementation of Fan ID, new arbitration technology and the debuting Leagues Cup. On the other hand, it continues in the discussion table of the owners, issues such as the number of foreigners and the fate of the property of Gallos Blancos.

The Clausura 2023 tournament begins three weeks after the World Cup in Qatar 2022 and will have its sunset in the summer, just when the squads should be ready to debut the Leagues Cup. Since the Apertura 2020 the Mexican tournament has the Repechage round, an old known that it was played in the Liguilla of the 1991-92 season. The playoffs returned with the philosophy of allowing the teams to extend their playing time and therefore receive more box office revenue, sponsorships, and television.

The Apertura 2023 tournaments and the MLS Cup will pause for a month to give way to the first Leagues Cup, which will be held from July and is endorsed by Concacaf, where the 18 clubs from LIGA MX and the 29 from Major League Soccer will meet. will face in the United States. Fans must make a single registration for all the stadiums, generating a unique and personal code. To generate the Fan ID, you enter from your cell phone to the address: www.incode.id. The platform requests a valid official identification, cell phone number and a selfie. The league promises that the data is stored in a biometric system for which Incode is responsible for implementing security controls to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability.
