Despite the additions of Lucas Patrick and rookie Dylan Fairchild, the starting roles remain unsettled due to injuries and inconsistent performance. Head coach Zac Taylor has openly expressed disappointment with the guard battle, signaling the team’s willingness to look for external upgrades to protect quarterback Joe Burrow.
Risner, 29, was a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent the 2023 season with the Minnesota Vikings, where he started 11 of the 15 games he played.
