Culiacán, Sinaloa, January 6, 2023.- During the press conference offered to publicize the account of the events that occurred yesterday, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya pointed out that this type of action has already concluded and guaranteed security of the Sinaloan population, to whom in his message he urged them to give life to the state, resuming daily activities.
“Guarantee them in terms of security, that we are going to be vigilant, that we are already there, they can now live in normal conditions. Yesterday was a special day and I am sure that we can now resume daily activities, do priority activities, each person will take due prudence, that they estimate, but that they can now go to the supermarket,” said the Governor.
The State Executive was emphatic in specifying that the Federal Government has shown full support for him, which is palpable with the presence of 3,500 army elements in Sinaloa, National Guard and Navy personnel, who will remain in the state throughout as long as necessary, in addition to the agents of the different state corporations.
In addition, he highlighted the willingness of the State Government to attend to the victims of these events immediately and with respect for their human rights.
“It is a humanitarian issue, that the sick tell us, if they cannot bring them, to send them the ambulances, so that they bring them and immediately, that they leave and we will take the measures so that they can arrive and take the sick and bring them to the hospital, absolutely respecting their entire situation,” said the state president.
For her part, Prosecutor Sara Bruna Quiñonez, detailed the participation of investigative police officers, who made 20 flagrant arrests of people who committed the crime of robbery against businesses.
“Derived from the events that occurred in the early hours of yesterday, as well as during the course of the day, the Prosecutor’s Office had 20 detainees for crimes committed such as robbery against businesses. These arrests all correspond to males and were carried out by elements of Investigation Police”, specified the Prosecutor.
Finally, the head of the State Attorney General’s Office commented that so far no formal complaints have been received for damage, dispossession or theft of vehicles, noting that people are already available to receive all pertinent complaints, for which, there is even a special group of agents from the Public Ministry to attend to those who were detained in flagrante delicto and others to be attentive to receive any complaints that may be filed.
During the press conference, the Governor was accompanied by Enrique Inzunza Cázarez, Secretary General of the Government, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, Secretary of State Public Security and Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil, Municipal President of Culiacán.
