Despite a challenging season, the Atlanta Braves now possess the longest active winning streak in MLB. Their fifth consecutive victory on Sunday completed a series sweep of the Cleveland Guardians and marked their eighth win in the last nine games. The Braves will look to extend this streak on Monday against the Chicago White Sox.
Starting pitcher Spencer Strider (5-10, 4.69 ERA) will take the mound for Atlanta, aiming to rebound from his two most difficult starts of the season. In those outings against Milwaukee and New York, he surrendered a combined 13 earned runs on 19 hits and failed to pitch through the fifth inning. Strider has not recorded more than seven strikeouts in his last four starts, and predictive models suggest he will finish with around 6.23 on Monday, placing value on the under for his strikeout total of 7.5 (-134).
In other matchups, several player props offer intriguing value.
Cincinnati’s Elly De La Cruz is a candidate to record a stolen base (+270). Currently on a five-game hitting streak, De La Cruz leads the Reds with 133 hits and 31 stolen bases. Despite not stealing a base in his last six games, he faces a favorable opportunity against Los Angeles Angels rookie pitcher Victor Mederos, who allowed three earned runs in just four innings during his MLB debut last week.
Seattle’s Eugenio Suarez presents a compelling case for a home run (+400). Since joining the Mariners, Suarez has hit two homers in 16 games, including one on Saturday against the Mets. The veteran, who hit 36 home runs with the Diamondbacks before the trade, is on a five-game hitting streak. He will face Philadelphia Phillies starter Ranger Suarez, who has given up nine home runs this season.
