Querétaro increased its exports of electronic devices

Queretaro, Qro. Exports for the manufacture of accessories, electrical appliances and electrical power generation equipment reached a value of 2,287.7 million dollars from January to September 2022, with an annual increase of 36.5%, which placed this branch as the fastest growing, they report. records of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

In the third quarter of 2022, Querétaro positioned itself as the fifth largest exporter of this subsector, by marketing 805.2 million dollars abroad, it was below Nuevo León (2,680.7 million), Coahuila (1,025.1 million), Chihuahua (969.4 million) and from Tamaulipas (951.1 million).

During July-September, Querétaro contributed 9.6 percentage points to the value of electrical equipment exports; in addition to registering an increase of 22.2% compared to the same section of 2021.

The accumulated annual growth in the January-September stretch (of 36.5%) was double the annual growth of state exports, which in turn achieved a value of 12,531.2 million dollars from the first to the third quarter of 2022 and which represented an increase of 17% compared to the 10,709.8 million dollars of the same tranche of 2021.

After electrical equipment, exports for the manufacture of metal products, which reached a value of 259.4 million, reported a growth of 34.1%, it was the second subsector with the highest annual growth in the entity.

The manufacture of machinery and equipment continues, which with a value of 1,200.7 million dollars had an annual growth of 32%; the plastic and rubber industry, with 668.7 million, rebounded 31.9%.

Sales by printing and related industries, which had a value of 33.8 million dollars in the first nine months of 2022, grew 28.9% at an annual rate; while the paper industry, with 286.9 million, increased its value by 25.4%.

With variations also above the average growth of total state exports, there are shipments from the food industry that had a value of 342.1 million, a growth of 20.8%; basic metal industries with 10.1 million dollars grew 19.3%.

And the manufacture of products based on non-metallic minerals achieved a value of 143.4 million dollars, an annual increase of 17.4%. While the rest of the subsectors reported variations below the state average.

Of the total exports accumulated in the first three quarters of 2022, the manufacture of transport equipment remained the largest contribution, adding 5,746.2 million dollars, 45.8% of the state total.

Shipments for the manufacture of accessories, electrical appliances and electrical power generation equipment were positioned as the second contributor (of 2,287.7 million dollars) by contributing 18.2% of the total.

Among the five subsectors that added the most to Queretaro’s exports, there is also the manufacture of machinery and equipment, which represented 9.5%; the manufacture of computer equipment, communication, measurement and other electronic equipment, components and accessories with 7.7%; and the plastic and rubber industry with 5.3%.
