Financing and competitiveness of SMEs is a priority for the World Trade Center Monterrey

According to data from the State Ministry of Economy, the program Impulse Last year, it added 2,989 million pesos in Nafin guarantees to acquire credit in commercial banks, and with this, 1,000 Nuevo León SMEs. This year the amount that the government of Nuevo León will contribute is not yet available.

On the other hand, in the program competitive SMEs 1,084 SMEs received training through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) model, from May to December 2022.

“Preliminary data indicates that 10% of the companies that have finished their process, each of them kept or created 14.34 jobs, on average, and increased their sales by 2.89 million pesos,” Eugenio Reyes Guzmán assured El Economista, CEO of the WTC at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León.

The requirements to participate are that the SMEs are incorporated in Nuevo León, with a minimum of two years of experience as a formal company and have at least 10 employees.

And with the aim that the SMEs they can compare the various credit options, “we give them a level playing field, if commercial banking is not viable for the type of credit they need, other options are open,” he pointed out.

“We became an Advisory Council, with 150 advisers to provide this support, since in the past, perhaps due to ignorance, they requested financing and it was even used to buy a vehicle, instead of solving the needs of the company”, he deepened.

In short, he said that it is important that this segment of companies, which in Nuevo León represent around 99% of the total, are attentive to the economic environment and know that they can find training and advice, because with so many responsibilities, sometimes there is no time to put out fires. and they feel alone.
