They will allocate 1,000 million pesos for the reconstruction of the elevated section of line 2 of Metrorrey

The Institute of Mobility and Accessibility of Nuevo León, reported that more than 1,000 million pesos will be invested in the reconstruction of the elevated section of the subway line 2. The first stage will end on February 28, with the opening of the Universidad and Niños Héroes stations.

The director of the Metrorrey Collective Transportation System, Abraham Vargas, pointed out that the goal is to reach 30 work fronts to complete the reconstruction of the first stage in four weeks, which will allow the reopening of the Niños Héroes and Universidad stations.

While in a second stage, which would be up to the Sendero stationIt is expected to finish in August.

“The first stage is to attend to 34 capitals that are those that go from Children Heroes to University (…) the cost will be 205 million pesos, already including the 38 million pesos that were assigned last year for the entire study” .

“For the second stage, which is 134 capitals, 799 million are estimated, however, let’s remember that it is important to divide it into two stages, where compliance with the standard, the definitive solution, time and cost are being prioritized,” he added. the official.

He commented that after the exhaustive review of the capitals, it turned out that maintenance or repair is not required, but rather to carry out corrections in the construction.

Emerging circuits

In order to facilitate the transfer of the students of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), who will return to classes on January 23, there will be two additional pop-up circuits at the Sendero-Universidad stations and from General Anaya to University.

These circuits were implemented before the closure of the six Metrorrey stations, as a security measure due to failures in their structures and because they are in the process of being repaired, said the general director of the IMA, José Manuel Valdez Gaytán.

“Two more circuits will be added, the first from the Sendero a Universidad station with transport units, with a route of 11.8 kilometers, which takes 52 minutes,” said Valdez Gaytán.

The other circuit will operate in a similar way leaving from General Anaya Station to go directly to Universidad Station and return to General Anaya Station, traveling 7.10 kilometers in 34 minutes.

“We estimate an acceptable frequency of three minutes for each unit and we think we can do it with 25 more units of the service we already have, that is, we will bring approximately 85 or 90 units in these emerging Metro services,” said the state official.

Currently, in the Sendero-General Anaya circuit, 18.8 kilometers are traveled in 82 minutes for a complete lap, there are between 50 and 64 units operating in the section, depending on the hours and days of greatest demand.
