Culiacán, Sinaloa, January 19, 2023.- As a fair recognition of teachers and administrative workers who dedicated decades of their lives to the service of the College of Bachelors of the State of Sinaloa (COBAES), Governor Rubén Rocha Moya delivered retirement bonuses to 69 workers, which represented an amount greater than 28 million pesos in total, but above all, that it updates the State Government in the payment of this labor benefit, which for years presented a historical lag by not being covered in time and form.
The state president was received by the general director of COBAES, Santiago Inzunza Cázarez, at the “Antonio Rosales” Bachiller Cultural Center, accompanied by the Secretary of Public Education and Culture, Graciela Domínguez Nava; the Secretary General of Section 53 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE), Ricardo Madrid Uriarte; and the municipal president of Culiacán, Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil, to personally deliver the checks to the 69 workers who requested their retirement, who received a total of 28 million 271 thousand 759 pesos.
“We are going to resolve that from now on, no one, no one, no one who retires in the state, is a teacher, is a worker, is going to have problems with their retirement, or with their benefits derived from retirement, no one, they do not have to what, because if you don’t spend the money where you shouldn’t spend it and have it where you need it and where you have that commitment, you’re not going to go there fighting later,” Governor Rocha said.
In this regard, he referred to the financial discipline that he applied throughout 2022, which was his first year in government as a full fiscal year, by saving from the first fortnight of January the percentage necessary for the payment of the Christmas bonus for the workers of the Government of State, so when December arrived, this money was available and even for the first time in history, this benefit was paid on December 7 and 8, something never seen before.
“I do not want to owe the workers resources from their income, for me income, their bonuses and their benefits are sacred; No one, as long as I am here, who is in education, or who depends on us, is going to stop receiving their income on time, their Christmas bonus, even before time, ”he reiterated.
For his part, the director of COBAES, Santiago Inzunza Cázarez, thanked Governor Rocha for this support to this institution where 3,400 workers work in 127 schools, to serve an enrollment of 32,873 students.
He explained that this support is evident since for the first time in history the General Directorate of COBAES will have its own offices, which are currently being built in what was the Theme Park, and he also thanked him for the upcoming construction of the 130 La Conquista campus. , in this city, whose tender has already been launched, and in sum the budget of 35 million pesos that were allocated during 2022 to attend to various infrastructure and equipment and furniture works.
“This is a significant act for the College of Bachelors of the State of Sinaloa, but also for the colleagues who dedicated three and even four decades of their lives to the aggrandizement of this noble institution, some from the academic field and others from the administrative field” he acknowledged.
Inzunza Cázarez highlighted that through the delivery of these 28 million pesos in retirement bonuses, COBAES is updated with all the workers who requested their retirement during 2022.
“We must remember, and inform you, Mr. Governor, that these payments generated a crisis in the College of Bachelors, there was an accumulated debt of hundreds of millions of pesos, however, now in our management we are up to date on these payments and also in the 2023 budget the resources are contemplated so that all workers who are completing their retirement can receive this incentive, this is an achievement of the administration of Governor Rocha, who has always been very sensitive on the issue of payment to workers,” he said.
In turn, the leader of the SNTE 53, Ricardo Madrid, agreed that indeed in past administrations, this provision had observed serious difficulties in its fulfillment, since the payment had been interrupted, but now fortunately this backlog has been reduced.
“Thanks to the generosity and good intentions of the governor, Dr. Rubén Rocha Moya, today we have this delivery as a retirement bonus payment. This is the result of a joint, committed and determined work of this union organization that we have with the State Government, since we have cemented a relationship of height, where dialogue and the construction of agreements in favor of the Transformation of the state educational system and the well-being in the quality of life of education workers, is a constant task”, concluded
