(CNN) — Paris Hilton announced the birth of her first child with her husband Carter Reum..
The celebrity shared an image of a baby’s hand grasping a woman’s thumb on Instagram on Tuesday, along with the caption “You are already loved beyond words” and a blue heart emoji.
Hilton representatives confirmed the announcement to CNN.
In an interview with People, published on Tuesday, Hilton said: “It has always been my dream to be a mother and I am so happy that Carter and I have found each other. We are so excited to start a family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby.”
Hilton married venture capitalist Reum in a lavish ceremony in November 2021 and has since been outspoken about using In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to conceive a child, telling People they began the process during the covid-19 pandemic.
“We knew we wanted to start a family,” he said. “And I was like, ‘This is the perfect time. I’m usually on a plane 250 days a year, now we’re going to store all the eggs and prepare them, and we’ll have tons of them waiting.’”
Hilton has not publicly shared any other details or confirmed if her son was born via surrogate.
