James – who first bought a two per cent stake in Liverpool in 2011 for £4.7million with business partner Maverick Carter – made history in the trainers on Tuesday night.Â
The four-time NBA champion netted a 20-point triple-double to become the oldest player in the American top-flight to do so at 38.Â
James finished the game with 28 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to help the Lakers win by six points.Â
As a result, James now has 38,299 points from his impressive career and sits just 89 points behind Abdul-Jabbar in the records while playing 153 less matchesÂ
However, fans couldn’t stop talking about James’ footwear after the game at Madison Square Garden.Â

The trainers will reportedly retail at around $210 (£171) when first released by the basketball superstar. Â
Photo of James’ latest footwear comes after he was seen arriving for the Lakers game against the San Antonio Spurs wearing a special edition Liverpool kit.Â
The shirt featured his logo in the centre and was black with red pin stripes. It also had the letters YNWA (You’ll Never Walk Alone) printed on the side.Â
The 38-year-old star shared images on social media following the Lakers’ 113-104 win over the San Antonio Spurs, showing his support for Jurgen Klopp’s side.Â
The release of a clothing range between James and Liverpool would build on their existing relationship, with footwear having been produced since the basketball legend took a minority stake in the Premier League club back in 2011.
James converted his stake in Liverpool to a one per cent share in FSG’s global empire in March 2021.
As well as Liverpool and the Red Sox, FSG also owns the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team, 80 per cent of New England Sports Network and half of Roush Fenway Racing.Â
