OXXO opens its first fully digital store in Monterrey, the first of its kind in all of Latin America

Monterrey, NL. OXXO opened his first store Grab & Go, en Monterreywhich represents a disruption in the retail market in Mexico, by having a fully digital system, the first of its kind in all of Latin America.

“Through Grab & Go we seek to offer a unique shopping experience, driven by technology that is replicable and relocatable in universities, plazas and parks,” said Ricardo Leyva, director of Transformation and Strategic Planning at OXXO.

With this new Grab & Go shopping experience, customers walk into the store by means of a QR code, they take their products, and the payment is made automatically when leaving the establishment. They receive the purchase ticket on their cell phone, through an app.

“Grab & Go is another innovative element that is part of the stores OXXO SMARTa concept that seeks to offer products and services in customizable formats to serve specific markets in spaces such as departmental complexes, hospitals or offices, with this proposal we want to fulfill our mission of simplifying the lives of our clients and collaborators, creating memorable experiences”, mentioned Lucy González, director of OXXO’s Traditional Channel.

Said store will operate through an artificial intelligence system, equipped with state-of-the-art cameras, which identify each customer, as well as the products they take.

It should be noted that, thanks to the 100% digital system, this store will operate 100% without friction, so that the customer takes their products and leaves the store, immediately the camera and technology system will automatically charge the products and the ticket is received.
