Beware of scammers! Sedatu calls not to fall into fraud in support for housing

In order to prevent, inform and care for the population about possible extortionsthe Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), together with the National Housing Commission (Conavi), called to avoid fall for fraud regarding the props which are awarded in housing matter.

According to the call, the props which are awarded in housing matter They are free and are granted directly, and without intermediaries, for which reason the population was urged not to fall for scams that promise the delivery of these resources.

The authorities recalled that, during this year, the props in housing matters come from three schemes:

– Social Housing Programwhich aims to reduce the lack of a adequate housingwith priority given to the population in a situation of poverty, marginalization, risk and vulnerability, in need of a space to live and without access to financing.

“It is executed through modalities and lines of support, promoting quality and housing sustainability to guarantee habitability, structural safety, accessibility and cultural adaptation, with the accompaniment of qualified specialists,” the agencies reported.

– Program for Better Housing: That it is a project whose objective is to contribute to the reduction of the housing backlog by attending to households with needs for improvements through a support of 35,000 pesos or expansions through a support of 90,000 pesos.

– National Reconstruction Program: The purpose of this program is to assist the municipalities affected by earthquakes that occurred in 2017 and 2018, in the center-south region of the country, through actions of housing reconstructioneducational physical infrastructure, health, restoration, rehabilitation, maintenance and training for the prevention and conservation of cultural, historical, archaeological and artistic assets.
