Riviera Maya exceeds 90% occupancy

Chetumal.- The Riviera Maya continues to be the favorite destination for thousands of visitors, registering the highest hotel occupancy among the tourist destinations in the Mexican Caribbean during the week of February 18 to 24, with 90.1%, followed by Cancun, with 89.1 percent. hundred.

The Riviera Maya stretches along the Caribbean coast, in the eastern part of the Yucatan peninsula. It includes the area that goes from Puerto Morelos to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.

During this same period, Isla Mujeres registered an occupancy rate of 75.2%; Coast Women, 87.5%; Tulum, 87.3%; Cozumel, 86.3%, and Grand Costa Maya, 61.5%, according to statistical reports from hotel associations, municipal tourism directorates, and the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council.

The breakdown of the influx of tourists, according to their country of origin, indicates that the highest percentage is provided by the United States, with 37.01 percent.

In second place is Mexico, with 35.97%, followed in order of importance by Canada, 6.48%; United Kingdom, 2.91%; Colombia, 2.75; Argentina, 1.24%; Spain, 1.19%; France, 1.06%; Brazil, 1%; Germany, 0.92%, and other markets, 9.47 percent.
