Giannis Antetokounmpo offers to ‘teach’ Kevin Durant how to ‘carry a team’ after Phoenix move and makes Nikola Jokic ‘Burger King’ fat jibe… as Greek Freak awkwardly reads out scripted NBA insults in TV appearance
Giannis Antetokounmpo fired a shot at new Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant during his appearance on The Daily Show.Â
The two-time MVP showed he has more versatility than merely playing – or coaching – basketball, adding teleprompter reading to his repertoire, at the expense of Durant and back-to-back MVP, Nikola Jokic.
Clearly, Antetokounmpo was reading from a cringeworthy script in a segment wherein he roasted Nuggets star Jokic and Durant.Â
‘You keep joining these super teams to win an NBA title,’ Antetokounmpo said of the former Golden State Warrior.
‘How about we work out together sometime so I can teach you how to carry your own team.’Â

As for Jokic, who is on course to win a historic third-straight MVP award, producers decide to fat-shame the Serbian sensation.Â
‘Joker, how are you going to make it through the Finals when you look like you can barely make it through a Burger King drive-through,’ Antetokounmpo read from a script.Â
Evidently uncomfortable following the barbs, the Greek Freak followed them up with compliments for both Jokic and Durant.
‘Jokic, I love your game,’ he said before being interrupted by host Hasan Minaj, who, in an attempt to be funny, claimed Jokic ‘should be checking IDs outside a Hookah bar’ rather than playing basketball.
‘KD, you’re one of the best scorers to ever play this game. I respect your game, you’ve lead by example for 15 years.Â
‘You were my favorite player growing up. I’m sorry,’ Antetokounmpo added after the scripted insult.Â
The 28-year-old was then asked to read another scripted affront, this time about LeBron James, but he did not oblige.Â
‘LeBron, I love your game, man. You’re The King for a reason, goat. Just broke the all-time scoring record.Â
‘Keep doing what you’re doing, man. He’s a blueprint, you’re a blueprint, man.’
