McDonald’s Corp will temporarily close its US offices this week as it prepares to inform corporate employees about layoffs by the burger giant as part of a broader restructuring of the company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.
McDonald’s told US employees and some international staff in an internal email last week that they would need to work from home Monday through Wednesday to be able to communicate staffing decisions virtually, according to the report.
“During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions regarding roles and staffing levels across the organization,” the Chicago-based fast food chain said in the message seen by the Journal.
McDonald’s did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
