PAN questions AMLO’s initiative to extinguish Financiera Nacional de Desarrollo

The national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés Mendoza, questioned the initiative that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador sent to the Congress of the Union to extinguish Financiera Nacional de Desarrollo Agropecuario, Rural, Forestal y Pesquero, since he considered that this will affect the field of our country.

“López Obrador justified the liquidation of Financiera Rural by assuring that the machuchones and influential producers were supported and now the producers are supported in another way. We would like to know in what way, because the countryside is more unprotected and plunged into poverty than ever, ”he said.

Marko Cortés assured that the peasants of the country continue in poverty, and now they are discovered by the federal government. “The field is completely abandoned and the producers do not have the minimum support or credit to be able to get their crops afloat,” he said.

He described as worrisome that peasants are being affected by taking away their opportunity to obtain affordable credit, since private banks practically do not finance agricultural projects or have very high interest rates.

“López Obrador is destroying everything with a stroke of the pen, without analyzing the consequences, needs or emergencies,” said the PAN member.

He explained that Financiera Rural gave real support from the State for field production, which helped farmers to float their crops and have harvests with some profit. However, he said, they now face a government that completely disdains them and further oppresses them, causing the inequality gap to widen.

“Without avío credits, without spare parts credit and without financing for modernization, the countryside will enter into unprecedented poverty in rural areas,” he said.

The national leader explained that agricultural producers also face a gloomy panorama because they suffer from climate change that has completely modified the production cycle, droughts or extreme rains, the increase in pests of insects, rodents or fungi, while in In other countries there are already concrete actions to combat these factors.

“The countryside does not need handouts, it urgently needs modernization, credit, support, marketing, security and justice that, since 1925, the founder of Acción Nacional, Manuel Gómez Morin, promoted with the establishment of a national spare parts bank dedicated to this sector, and who suggested at that time a global credit system that included a legal corpus that contemplated the agricultural law, the property registry, an agricultural bank and societies organized by individual farmers”, he concluded.
