Mexico has the opportunity to become an industry hub: Concamin

Mexico has to take advantage of nearshoring to increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) above 4% from 2024, supported by an industrial policy, said José Abugaber, president of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin).

When participating in a table at the Hannover Messe (industrial, technology and innovation fair) in Germany to attract investment, Abugaber Andonie said that “Mexico is facing a great opportunity to become an industry hub, and we are working to make it a reality ”.

The leader of industrialists in the country promised with German businessmen and other European countries that the conditions exist in Mexico to invest and transfer manufacturing to take advantage of the Mexico, United States, Canada Treaty (T-MEC).

Global companies can be sure that we are going to achieve it”, pointed out the president of Concamin.

The Mexican delegation that participates in the Hannover Messe is also made up of the presidents of the CCE, Francisco Cervantes; from coparmex, Jose Medina Mora; of the AMIB, Alvaro Garcia Pimentel; of the INA; of Canacar, Miguel Angel Martinez.

Abugaber said that Mexico has two important opportunities to boost its economy: industrial policy and nearshoring.

“That is why we have to promote an industrial policy and take advantage of the opportunities offered by nearshoring, so that the growth rate in Mexico can be 4% or more in the period from 2024 to 2040,” said the leader of the industrial.
