(CNN) — James Corden said goodbye to his TV show, but he left a legacy of laughs for his audiences (and the internet) in his “Carpool Karaoke” segments.
Over the course of nine seasons, the host led to his work with some of the world’s most famous figures, singing and speaking on everything from “Penny Lane” to “Jenny From the Block.”
These were seven of Corden’s most memorable guests.
Paul McCartney
Corden listed this trip among his favorites. This 24-minute episode sees Corden taking McCartney to memorable places from his childhood in Liverpool, including a barbershop and flower shop. At one point, the two visit his childhood home, where the Beatle shows Corden where he used to write songs with John Lennon. Later they go to a pub where McCartney is performing.
Adele
Adele’s first appearance on “Carpool Karaoke” is the most popular video on “The Late Late Show” YouTube channel. The two sing “Hello” and “Someone Like You”. When Adele brilliantly performs the verse from Nicki Minaj’s “Monster,” it’s a jaw-dropping surprise.
Adele was also at the last “Carpool Karaoke” where she thanked Corden for being such a good friend.
Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey practices her accents, wears oversized sunglasses, a butterfly ring, a driving glove, and delivers pure diva perfection in this episode.
Corden credits Carey with boosting his show so much that it helped him land some very famous guests. Her duet of “Vision of Love” is a treasure.
Elton John
The two drive through Los Angeles in the rain, and Corden gets the singer to admit that his biggest tantrum was when he asked someone to make the wind stop blowing. They end the trip with an epic rendition of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.”
J.Lo
If you’ve ever wondered who has the best celebrity contact list in Hollywood, Corden says it’s Jennifer Lopez.
After snooping through her phone and seeing Bradley Cooper and Cristiano Ronaldo on the list, she lands on Leonardo DiCaprio, texting him “Hey Baby” and signing it “J.Lo, you know, from the block“, like his song.
Madonna
As they drive through New York, Madonna sings “Vogue” and puts her feet up on the roof. For that alone it is worth watching.
MichelleObama
Then-First Lady Michelle Obama joins Corden for a tour of the White House Gardens, singing along to Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé.
Obama dances to “Single Ladies.” Then Missy Elliott joins the tour to sing “This Is For My Girls” and “Get Ur Freak On.”
