Mexico City could support the development of a Cablebús for Culiacán, Sinaloa, even, the communication stage between the Mobility Secretariat of the capital and the Sinaloan authorities has already started, reported the head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
This Monday, the president explained that Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and Mayor Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil requested more information about this transportation system, since they are interested in replicating it.
“We talked about the Cablebús, but more for Culiacán than for Mazatlán (…) This is what we were talking about, the mayor of Culiacán was also there and they asked us how we did it, so we are going to ask Andrés Lajous to contact them ”, he delved.
It must be remembered that this would not be the first mobility project in which the capital of the country supports another state with a cable car, since it is currently helping Michoacán.
According to information from the Michoacán government, the Uruapan Cablebús seeks to be the third largest in the world, whose investment will be around between 2,600 and 3,000 million pesos.
For the Uruapan Cablebus project, it is contemplated that it will be made up of 7 kilometers in length from East to West, connecting several neighborhoods and the Uruapan National Park. The route seeks to be made up of eight stations, covering the 28 de Octubre and 2 de Mayo neighborhoods, until reaching Los Laureles and Obrero Popular.
Sheinbaum Pardo also ruled out that Mexico City is going to support the execution of a Metrobús for the Malecón in Mazatlán, since it does not have enough space.
“The Malecón is narrow, so it could hardly have a BRT; rather, they have to define what the characteristics are. Mazatlán has grown a lot, rather they are thinking about some mobility works that allow them not all traffic to pass through the Malecón ”, he said.
Yucatan Expo
Claudia Sheinbaum reported that after speaking with Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, it was agreed that Expo Yucatán would remain in the Zócalo.
“I was in Merida. They had a Yucatan Fair at the Palacio de los Deportes, so the governor asked me last year if we could find a place where they did not have to pay rent for the space, because it represents a greater outlay for them. The objective is tourism and also the sale of handicrafts and that Yucatan is known, ”he said.
The event will be from May 12 to 21, and includes gastronomic spaces and the sale of handicrafts.
