(Trends Wide) — One person was fatally injured and another was wounded in a shooting Thursday night at an Ohio auto manufacturing plant, according to Moraine City Police Sgt. Andrew Parish.
The suspect died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. There is no current threat to the community, Parish told Trends Wide affiliate WKEF during a late-night press briefing.
According to Parish, the male suspect entered the DMAX plant around 9:00 pm ET. “It appears to be a targeted attack on a male victim who has been pronounced deceased at the scene,” he said. Another victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital, Parish said.
Police officers are expected to provide an update on the incident late in the morning, according to Parish.
DMAX Ltd. is a subsidiary of General Motors. The Moraine plant employs about 800 people, according to its website.
