Chipotle is giving away FREE food this month – but there’s a catch! Here’s how to get yours
- The restaurant is giving away free entrees during the NBA Finals in June
- The beloved fast food chain plans to give away up to 10,500 freebies per game
- Basketball fans can get a burrito, tacos, or a burrito bowl totally free of charge
It’s good news for Chipotle fans as the Mexican restaurant has announced that it is giving away free food throughout June.
But there is a catch – only those who watch the NBA Finals will get a chance to score the freebies.
The finals of the men’s professional basketball championship series kick off tonight with Game 1 between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.
And Chipotle is giving away hundreds of free burritos each time a player in the series hits a three-point shot.
The fast food favorite plans to give away up to 10,500 free entrees per game, so you will have more than enough opportunity to win.

The promotion includes burritos, burrito bowls, an order of tacos, a quesadilla or a salad. The orders can be made via the Chipotle app or website
How it works is simple. When any player makes a three-pointer, Chipotle will drop a text-to-win code on its Twitter page @ChipotleTweets.
The first 300 fans to text the code to 888222 will be given a free entree.
This includes burritos, burrito bowls, an order of tacos, a quesadilla or a salad. The orders can be made via the Chipotle app or website.
This process will repeat itself for each three-point shot while supplies last, up to 35 three-point shots per game.
If the series goes all the way to the seventh game, that means there could be up to 73,500 freebies given away to burrito – and basketball – fans.
According to Chipotle, the average number of three-pointers made in men’s professional games has increased by nearly 60 percent.
‘Like a well-timed three-pointer on basketball’s biggest stage, free Chipotle brings people out of their seats,’ said Chris Brandt, Chief Brand Officer at Chipotle.
‘This year, when it rains threes, it rains free burritos.’

The chain added that if it ran this promotion throughout the entire 2022-2023 NBA season, it would have given out more than 600,000 free entrees.
The first game of the NBA Finals is on Thursday June 1 at 6.30pm in Denver, Colorado.
