Australian basketball veteran Joe Ingles has secured a two-year NBA contract and $33million pay day with the Orlando Magic as free agency negotiation season kicked off on Friday.
Dubbed ‘Slo-Mo Joe’, the 35-year-old Australian Boomers representative will depart the Milwaukee Bucks, where he earnt plenty of admirers for his energy as a bench player.
He will be 36 when the NBA season tips off in October and 38 when his contract expires, extending a stellar career in Australia and the United States. Â
Ingles’ agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, confirmed the pending move for his client to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday.Â
The forward, renowned for his three-point accuracy, saw action in 46 games off the bench for the Bucks last season.
Ingles tore the ACL in his left knee the previous season while playing for the Utah Jazz, where he was on their books for eight seasons.

The NBA star is married to Australian netballer Renae Ingles, with the couple parents to twins
Through nine seasons of his NBA career, Ingles averages 8.5 points, 3.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.
He was also part of the Australian Boomers basketball team that won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Adelaide-raised Ingles made his NBL debut in 2006 with the now defunct South Dragons, winning a championship in Melbourne three years later.
Next were moves to Spain (CB Granada, FC Barcelona) and Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv), before the Jazz came calling in 2014.
Meanwhile, Ingles’ Boomers teammate Jock Landale is on the lookout for a new NBA home after the Suns reportedly pulled his qualifying offer, making the 27-year-old centre an unrestricted free agent.
Landale spent one season with the Suns as a back up to starting centre Deandre Ayton, averaging 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per outing.
