(CNN Spanish) — Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef announced this Thursday the end of their marriage after six years of relationship. They did so through a statement posted on social media.
“After careful reflection, we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity towards ourselves and our children, preserving and honoring what we have experienced as a couple during these years,” the brief statement begins.
“Our greatest desire now is to continue to have a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on our genuine friendship, while sharing the upbringing of our children,” he continues.

Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef presented themselves as a married couple in 2018 when they showed their home in Los Angeles to ‘Architectural Digest’ magazine, in which he, his partner and children appeared on the cover.
Martin and Yosef met around 2016 when art brought them together, with Ricky looking for pieces, and her husband, a Syrian-Swedish artist, creating them. In 2018, the Puerto Rican actor and singer was seen on the red carpet with Yosef and later announced her marriage to the artist.
Martin and Yosef have four children together: Renn Martin-Yosef, whose birth the couple announced in October 2019; Lucia Martin-Yosef, in August 2019, and the twins Matteo and Valentino, who were born in 2008.
