(Trends Wide) — At least nine people were shot overnight in Cleveland, Ohio, according to police.
“On July 9, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m. local time, Cleveland Police Officers responded to West 6th Street and Johnson Court as multiple individuals had been shot. Officers were in the area assigned to the weekly Warehouse District Department and quickly arrived and provided medical aid,” Cleveland police spokeswoman Jennifer Ciaccia told Trends Wide in a statement Sunday morning.
According to Ciaccia, nine victims suffered gunshot wounds; however, there are no fatal injuries.
“Preliminary information indicates that a suspect opened fire on a group of people and then fled the scene,” Ciaccia continued.
Investigators are in the process of reviewing the evidence, the videos and are interviewing the victims, according to Ciaccia.
