While shares of Ford were falling Friday, weighed down by downbeat news about its EV line, some other electric automakers were rising to finish the week.
One was Tesla, shares of which were recently up more than 4%. The company has been cutting prices to boost demand, though quarterly profits reported earlier this month were stronger than expected.
The U.S.-listed shares of China’s Xpeng, meanwhile, were ahead more than 15%. The stock has been lifted by news that Volkswagen took a stake in the company and plans to jointly develop two vehicles for the Chinese market.
