Michael Jordan’s signed copy of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is being put up for sale.
The NBA superstar was sent a signed edition of the book by Lee in 1995 – it is a 35th anniversary edition and the author sent signed copies to people she was connected to in some way.
Jordan, who at the time was playing with the Chicago Bulls, kept it in his library with his then-wife, Juanita Vanoy. They divorced in 2006 and she kept the library.
The book was later bought by a private collector but now Moments in Time have it for sale.
They list it as ‘priced on request’ and do not explain Lee’s ties with Jordan but according to TMZ it could fetch around $24,000.

The author Lee – who only wrote one other novel in her life – died in 2016 at the age of 89
The personalized message inside the book simply reads ‘To Michael Jordan, best wishes – Harper Lee.’
Lee, who published Mockingbird in 1960, died in 2016 at the age of 89 while Jordan, now 60, recently sold his Charlotte Hornets NBA franchise for $3billion.
Jordan’s estimated wealth now comes in at $3.5billion and makes him the wealthiest player in the history of the NBA.
Mockingbird is set in Alabama and is a coming-of-age story centered around children Scout and Jem Finch, whose father Atticus is defending a black man accused of rape.
Lee herself was born in Monroeville, Alabama and she died there too.
At the time she mailed Jordan his gift, the Bulls hero was a three-time NBA champion and would go on to win another three and cement his legacy as the game’s all-time great.
Both Lee and Jordan have received the presidential medal of freedom – George W. Bush awarded the honor to Lee in 2007 and Barack Obama handed the same honor to Jordan in 2016.
Lee only published two books in her life. The second, Go Set a Watchman, came out in 2015.
